This butterscotch hot apple cider recipe is perfect for the fall! We especially love it at Thanksgiving. It’s a snap to make in the slow cooker (although if you don’t have one, stovetop works too) and makes any day feel festive and special. Only 3 main ingredients!
You will love the aroma that will fill the house!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 gallon apple cider or juice
- 2 cups butterscotch schnapps liqueur
- 8 cinnamon sticks (3 inches) wrapped in a cheesecloth square so you can easily scoop out before serving
- Optional: orange sliced into small rounds for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Combine the first 2 ingredients in a slow cooker. Wrap the cinnamon sticks in cheesecloth if desired and throw into the mix. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until heated through. Optional: Garnish with orange rounds.
Prefer a non-alcoholic butterscotch hot apple cider drink? Use butterscotch syrup in place of liqueur. The flavor is stonger, so we recommend one cup instead of two.
