A natural and refreshing detox drink recipe to help keep you hydrated and healthy! Lemons, cucumbers, and mint all contain an abundance of antioxidants. These antioxidants help protect your body from oxidative stress, a type of damage to cells caused by free radicals.
This 4 ingredient recipe is simple and the amount of each component can vary depending on the flavor you desire. Below is the recipe I use, but make it your own…and sip on it all day long to help you stay hydrated! You’ll want to make a batch to chill overnight in the refrigerator so the flavors enhance and then you can pour chilled into your favorite container each morning. It stays fresh and delicious all day long.
Ingredients
1 pitcher water (I use a 48 oz pitcher)
1 lemon
1/2 large cucumber
Fresh mint leaves
Directions
Add water to your pitcher.
Add the juice from 1/2 of the lemon and cut the other half into slices to add to the pticher.
Cut the cucumber into slices and add to the pitcher.
Add fresh mint leaves
Allow to set overnight (or 1-3 hours minimum) in the refrigerator
Note: Mint is easy to grow in a pot on the windowsill or outside – it grows and spreads quickly, so it’s best not to grow in a flower bed. Experiment with different types of mint plants; I like peppermint and spearmint best.
