NAACP 46th Annual Freedom Fund Celebration

Fort Worth Tarrant County NAACP will host the 46th Annual Dr. George D. Flemmings Memorial Freedom Fund Celebration Friday, October 20, 2023 at 6:45pm at the Fort Worth Convention Center – Ballroom (1300 Commerce St. Ft Worth, 76102). This year’s theme is: The Power of Strategic Advocacy and will feature Bishop William J. Barber II, the founding Director of the Center for Public Theology & Public Policy at Yale Divinity School. The Freedom Fund Celebration will feature the organization’s achievements over the past year and how through advocacy it continues to effect positive change. As a non-partisan association, we partner with organizations to provide voter registration and voter education; work with local law enforcement on critical matters affecting our communities; promote education and provide scholarships; advise and make recommendations to groups that represent various sectors of the community including the Arts, Environmental Injustices and Civil Rights. The Fort Worth Tarrant County NAACP has been promoting civil rights and voting rights for all citizens for 89 years in our community. The branch stands steadfast as we continue our efforts to break down social, racial, and economic barriers in the communities we serve. There is much that still needs to be done.
