What’s better than a warm tasty drink on a cool fall evening? This hot apple pie drink is a holiday favorite for my family. Simple to make with only 5 ingredients! Makes 10 8-oz servings. (Don’t want the alcohol? Just leave it out – still delicious!)
INGREDIENTS
9 cups apple cider (We like the apple cider at Whole Foods)
6 cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
10 whole allspice
1 1/2 cups rum
DIRECTIONS
Combine apple cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Once the mixture reaches a boil, lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and strain out spices. The last step is to add the rum. Pour into glasses, serve immediately and enjoy!
Note: Garnish with whipped cream if you don’t mind the extra calories (and a cinnamon stick) if you like
