What we like:
We like that this appliance is versatile – it cooks a variety of foods well using different methods. We’ve made lots of delicious recipes. Interestingly, our favorite food to make in the instant pot (pressure cooker) is actually hard boiled eggs. You can cook the eggs for 6 minutes at 360 degrees, release the steam, then put them in a bowl of ice water to achieve great results every time. The eggs are not only cooked perfectly, but they peel easily and taste great. You can also make quick healthy entree dishes, and can start with frozen meat (it’s great not to have to defrost in advance). The air fryer is wonderful to make frozen chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, french fries and more in just a few minutes without using oil. The price of this dual purpose appliance is comparable to the cost of other brands.
What we don’t like:
The product is advertised as “compact”, but it’s a pretty bulky appliance. We love that it takes the place of so many other appliances, but it is still hard to find a convenient place to store on the counter or even in a cabinet. While the stand-alone instant pot (pressure cooker) is 6 quarts, the air fryer is only 4 quarts because of the size of the basket that needs to be used to air fry. As a result, the amount of food that can be cooked at one time in the air fryer is enough for about two (2) people. Note: The time required to cook various foods varies depending on the brand, so you need to experiment a bit with this one as you would with any other.
