About Debra Kerper:

Debra’s desire to pursue a career in Travel for the Disabled came from her personal experience as a physically challenged traveler. Diagnosed with Lupus at age 20, she spent six years full-time in a wheelchair as the result of a bone infection in her legs. At 29, Debra became a below-knee amputee.

Debra’s had over 30 surgeries. She spends much time using a wheelchair as well as enjoying long periods of good health and short-distance walking.  As Debra spent excessive amounts of time in hospitals and outpatient rehab facilities over the years, she possesses a very keen understanding of medical ailments and disabling conditions.

In February 2016, Debra experienced serious vascular problems that resulted in the amputation of her left leg.  Adjusting to life as a bilateral amputee is not easy, but Debra did not allow this new life-changing event to get in her way. She continued to work full-time and travel.  Debra continues to escort groups to destinations such as Alaska, the Mediterranean, and Hawaii.
