Prado Museum, Madrid and the Spanish Golden Age – Livestream Art Tour!
Let’s travel to one of my favorite places, Madrid, Spain, to see one of the world’s greatest art museums, the Prado. Our online/virtual tour will feature an overview of the museum and its amazing art collection, including Spanish Golden Age artists including El Greco, Velázquez and Goya.
The Prado Museum (/ˈprɑːdoʊ/ PRAH-doh; Spanish: Museo del Prado), officially known as Museo Nacional del Prado, is the main Spanish national art museum, located in central Madrid. It is widely considered to house one of the world’s finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 20th century, based on the former Spanish royal collection, and the single best collection of Spanish art. Founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture in 1819, it also contains important collections of other types of works. The Prado Museum is one of the most visited sites in the world and is considered one of the greatest art museums in the world. The numerous works by Francisco Goya, the single most extensively represented artist, as well as by Hieronymus Bosch, El Greco, Peter Paul Rubens, Titian, and Diego Velázquez, are some of the highlights of the collection. Velázquez and his keen eye and sensibility were also responsible for bringing much of the museum’s fine collection of Italian masters to Spain, now one of the largest outside Italy.
The collection currently comprises around 8,200 drawings, 7,600 paintings, 4,800 prints, and 1,000 sculptures, in addition to many other works of art and historic documents. The Prado is one of the most-visited art museums in the world and is one of the largest museums in Spain.
The Prado, with the nearby Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Museo Reina Sofía, forms Madrid’s Golden Triangle of Art, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2021.

Van Gogh Museum – Amsterdam: Livestream Art Tour Program
Event Details
Join us for an online/virtual tour of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Van Gogh Museum holds the world’s largest collection of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and drawings, plus works by many other artists including Monet, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec and more. We’ll discuss how the museum’s paintings and drawings compare and contrast with well-known items at other museums and the context of these works in Vincent’s life and legacy.
Vincent Willem van Gogh (March 30, 1853 – July 29, 1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. In a decade, he created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life. They include landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, and are characterised by bold colours and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art. He was not commercially successful, and his death at 37 came after years of mental illness, depression and poverty.
The Van Gogh Museum is a Dutch art museum dedicated to the works of Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries in the Museum Square in Amsterdam South, close to the Stedelijk Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Concertgebouw. The museum opened on 2 June 1973, and its buildings were designed by Gerrit Rietveld and Kisho Kurokawa.
The museum contains the largest collection of Van Gogh’s paintings and drawings in the world. In 2017, the museum had 2.3 million visitors and was the most-visited museum in the Netherlands, and the 23rd-most-visited art museum in the world. In 2019, the Van Gogh Museum launched the Meet Vincent Van Gogh Experience, a technology-driven “immersive exhibition” on Van Gogh’s life and works, which has toured globally.

Prado Museum – Madrid, Spain: A Collection of Wonders Film Screening!
Let’s travel to one of my favorite places, Madrid, Spain, to see one of the world’s greatest art museums, the Prado. Our online/virtual adventure will feature a very brief overview of the museum followed by a full screening of the documentary film “The Prado Museum: A Collection of Wonders” hosted by Jeremy Irons (preview link below).
The Prado Museum: A Collection of Wonders
The first cinematic journey through the rooms, stories and emotions of one of the most visited museums in the world. ACADEMY AWARD® WINNER JEREMY IRONS will be guiding spectators on a discovery of a heritage of beauty and art.
Film Trailer:

During the screening there will be an opportunity to discuss the museum, its collection, and the film, with your fellow participants via Zoom.

You can add any text you wish to the page. It is a normal Wordpress Page so you can add images, forms, whatever you like.
This button on the toolbar allows you to add any style and option of calendar view, including filtering for specific “Event Types” or all. I chose the accordion view, display images etc for example but there are lots of options to play with.
