Why You Need to Check Reviews Before Booking an All-Inclusive Resort
It’s essential to read a mix of reviews from different sources to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the all-inclusive resort. We recommend travelers also consider the date of the review, as a resort’s management and services can change over time. Taking the time to read reviews before booking an all-inclusive vacation helps ensure a more pleasant and satisfying travel experience.
Generally, reviews offer unbiased opinions and insights from real travelers who experienced the resort firsthand. Reviewers often include personal anecdotes and details that travel brochures or official websites might omit. These authentic experiences can give a more accurate picture of what to expect during the stay and help set realistic expectations of the resort. By reading through the comments, travelers can better determine if the property aligns with their preferences and requirements. For seniors specifically, reviews can provide insights into the resort’s accessibility, safety measures, and amenities catering to older travelers. This information is valuable to help ensure a comfortable and enjoyable vacation for seniors.

Stay away from Krystal Cancun.. or any resort on this side of Cancun.. especially in March.. it’s 3:30 am March 7th now… as I write this and the loud music and fireworks from the neighbouring hotel has me awake. The music (if you can call it that) is so loud, even with my windows closed, I can’t hear the tv that is turned up to 30. No front desk staff to ask for an alternate room, Westjet is closed till morning and my husband has a TBI that is going to cause him to become agitated due to lack of sleep.. it’s located in party central.. not the relaxing vacation I envisioned for my first ever all inclusive resort.
Thank you for sharing. Yes, Cancun resorts can be very loud. If going to Mexico for a relaxing vacation, best to go to the Riviera Maya (about 30 minutes outside of Cancun). Tends to be much quieter.
I would take your recommendation of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya with a grain of salt. I was recently there for a business meeting/mini vacation, and while the employees, restaurants/buffet, and rooms were very nice; there is a LOT of walking and climbing stairs to get from our room to anywhere. 3 flights of stairs and approximately 300 yards from our room to the main pavilion/lobby area, same amount of stairs and approximately 500 yards to the beach. A layout of the hotel showed only 2 elevators available. I wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone that has any level of knee, hip, or back issues – too much walking and stair climbing.
Thank you for your comments and I agree. This resort is not one that is recommended for older adults with limited mobility – it is more for active adults. The resorts on this post specifically recommended for those with limitations are:
Best All-Inclusive Resorts for Seniors with Limited Mobility
Sandals Royal Caribbean, Jamaica
Iberostar Punta Canta, Dominican Republic
El Dorado Royale, Mexico
Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa, Jamaica
Which Caribbean all inclisves are flat and don’t require much walking, or provide cart or shuttle transport.
That’s a good question. Some of these resorts are quite large, so it could be a distance to get from one area to another. Most will accommodate requests for transport. We recommend for this type of specific question, you contact the resort directly.
