In my opinion, it’s not even a party without homemade franks in a blanket. This recipe is quick and easy to make and even more fun to eat! I can’t get enough of them. Only two ingredients!!!
My husband loves to make these simple franks in a blanket to snack on while watching football!
Franks in a Blanket Recipe
8 – 12 Servings
Ingredients:
1 12-oz. package mini cocktail franks
(Note: I prefer to use full-size all-beef hot dogs cut in 3 pieces because cocktail franks are not always all beef)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Coat medium size baking sheet lightly with non-stick baking spray.
Unroll crescent sheets on a lightly floured surface and tear where perforated.
Cut each triangle into 3 smaller triangles.
Place one cocktail frank on the thick side of each triangle, then gently roll to thinner side. Transfer franks to medium baking sheet and bake until golden, 12-15 minutes.
Serve with mustard (yellow, dijon or grainy mustard – it’s all good) and enjoy!
Additional Tips:
I usually make these for a quick snack for the family using just the two ingredients – but you can make these franks in blankets a bit more special. Here are some ideas:
- Brush dough with melted butter and sprinkle with Kosher (course) salt (or everything bagel seasoning) before baking.
- Brush dough with garlic butter before baking
- Substitute pre-made biscuit dough or puff pastry for crescent roll dough – delicious if you want to get a little fancy
